Goal:
To create a durable, transitional space that would effectively support their staff’s daily activities but also be able to transform into a space to entertain when needed.
Solution:
The Des Moines Metro Opera partnered with Pigott to transform their historic 1904 Carnegie Library building into a high-functioning, flexible workspace. By utilizing furniture that can be moved, such as mobile screens, consolidating storage areas and reconfiguring workstation orientations, their space can easily be transitioned into a place to entertain.
During the design process, Pigott’s CET visualization software supported real-time decision-making efforts for Des Moines Metro Opera, allowing them to view photo realistic renderings of proposed solutions, layouts, and finishes within their space.
A clean aesthetic for furnishings can be found throughout the space. The natural, historic wood trims and architectural details were contrasted with contemporary finishes and furnishings.
