The Plaza

Goal
Iowa’s first high-rise condominium project and one of downtown Des Moines’ most prominent buildings, The Plaza sought to update their community area to better accommodate the culture and lifestyle of their residents while reflecting the history and brand of the building.
Solution
The Plaza partnered with Pigott to design and furnish a vibrant and dynamic space that could accommodate anything from potlucks, to parties, to casual movie nights.
Within the updated common area, you will find many lightweight, easily movable furnishings that provide the flexibility needed for the varied resident uses of the space. Eames Molded Plastic Chairs and Stools work beautifully to create a contemporary aesthetic, supporting both form and function.
Finishes and fixtures were selected to reflect the history of the building and create an elevated, modern design. Dark wood and a cork feature wall pair with bright whites and blues which bring warmth to the room while incorporating the iconic blue found on the exterior of the building.
