As we embrace the vibrant spirit of Pride Month, Pigott's DEIB committee hosted a Pride Potluck in each office throughout June to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and its history.
Pride Month serves as a time to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, honor its history and achievements, raise awareness about LGBTQIA+ rights issues, and promote acceptance, equality, and inclusivity for individuals regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
In the years following the Stonewall riots in 1969, LGBTQIA+ activists and communities began organizing marches, protests, and other events to commemorate the anniversary of the uprising and to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility. Over time, these events evolved into Pride Month, which is now celebrated for the whole month of June around the world.
Pigott's Pride Potluck underscores our commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace but also serves as a joyful expression of solidarity and support for our LGBTQIA+ colleagues, friends, and allies.
